1. Not getting Involve with environment
A very common mistake new models do is not getting Involve in what they are doing. Most of models thinks it is very easy to modelling and they just need to pose front of camera but believe me this is not that easy you think. You need to dissolve yourself in enviourment of Photography. You are working for Portraits, headshots, Portfolio, product shoot, outfit Shoots whatever you need to give your best.
2. Demanding High Pay in begining
Everyone need money to survive but what you need to get a good career? You need to perform well to get it. Money is necessary but fame is must in modelling career. Try to attend free PhotoWalk and do collaborations shoots which give you fame to recognize enough.
3. Not having enough photos
Many models use very limited photos for their Portfolio. They went to once Studio got clicked 20 photos and done. But this is not enough. Recruiters always demands recent photos and you can't define yourself just in few photos. Take lot of good quality photos for your Portfolio and send new one every time you get asked for photos.
4. Using Selfies or Home clicks for Portfolio
What do you think if you see you are beautiful than other think same for you. Every person has a problem of "pride" which means he or she think that they are most beautiful or attractive. Which is bitter truth. So don't use your Selfies or home clicks for your professional work. Any casting agency will not recommend any model to any recruiter if model don't provide enough data.
5. Beauty is not everything
This is common stereotype that only beautiful people can be model but this is not truth. For be a good model all you need to learn to represention. How to show yourself to people so they like, how to represent any specific Expressions or any specific situation. Spend time for practicing Expressions instead of spending hours in beauty parlor.
6. Learn from Low
Everyone is not Rich but everyone has right to see dreams and one who have enough potential also get their dreams. Many of us give up so early by judging themselves just watching others. Don't watch how Rich people join high class modelling schools and become famous so fast. That should be never your point of consideration of success. Learn from what you have not what others have.
7. Help each other
Helping others is equal to helping yourself. I see many beginners of many fields not only modelling who never want to collaborate or help people of same interests. If you get to any PhotoWalk be friendly with everyone. You can exchange outfits with other models which help both of you. You can help each other for couple shoots.
Don't show any Attitude to anyone not even photographers. In most of photowalks most of photographers are newbie you can contact some of them for further collaborations which help you both.
8. Be careful
Bad people are found in every profession but every person is not bad in every profession. Protect yourself from any type of assault and non comfortable zone. Working with high end professionals can be very uncomfortable for beginners but never behave rudely. If you don't feel good just leave quietly. But of something against law never hesitate to complainting.
9. Find your comfort zone.
Modelling has many zone from normal to nude and you need to find what is best for you. If you are not comfortable with any specific shoots say to your photographer or producers. Never applied for such shoot in which you are not comfortable. But also never argue to change shoot type for producers or photographers. You don't know what type shoots they want same as they don't know what is your comfortzone.
10. Eat healthy be fit
A healthy and Fit model always welcome for each shoot because of his or her charm. So fitness is way of your success with other things.
I wrote above points with my experience and it is possible that you may not have all these experience and also possible you have much more experience. On some points you could be agree or not.
